I finished reading Rio Youers' upcoming OLD MAN SCRATCH (PS Publishing), and needed to give people a heads-up: This is some seriously good stuff. This guy has chops, and is going to be a name to watch. I realize it's a bit pricey for 57 pages, but it's damned good, and I think you'd enjoy it enough to feel like you got your money's worth.

Anyone ever watch THE LOST TAPES on Animal Planet?
Yes, Animal Planet.
Why a fictional Cryptozoological show is on Animal Planet is beyond me, but it's not half bad.
It's kind of like a weekly BLAIR WITCH/PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, with people encountering monsters or demons (Camcorders in hand, naturally....), and Animal Planet is showing the found footage. Pretty creepy stuff, and the creature effects aren't half bad for a show that must have a very low budget. the...

What did you think?

I saw it and liked it very much.

Without giving anything away, I thought that it was a conceptually broader movie than it appeared to be and I would have liked to have seen it fleshed out a little more. I think that a lot of people felt bereft of any meaningful story after watching this, and I can see how.

To me, it was kind of like a Norse saga.

Laurie heard something about this on the radio so we looked into it. He is being interviewed by New York Times on the 16th I think. And you can buy tickets for it at the theatres in the area. Guess its being web cast to select (or maybe a bunch) of theatres. Anyone think thats a little steep just to watch him interviewed on the screen? Or am I missing something?

Just got a voice mail from my adorable niece. (She's nine years old, extremely small, and was adopted from a Romanian orphanage when she was 2. In essence, she's the kid from ORPHAN.) The message was as follows:
